The Nursery Ministry serves infants and toddlers from newborn through five years of age every Sunday during morning worship as well as prior to worship to allow parents to attend Morning Bible Institute. We support the Worship Ministry by providing a safe, caring, loving and learning environment for the children. We have dedicated volunteers who focus on Biblical teachings (Bible stories) from a simplistic approach.

We have established guidelines that the volunteers must follow. There is an age requirement of at least 21 years of age to be a volunteer. We schedule two volunteers for each Sunday and have a rule that if there are more than 10 children, the scheduled volunteers would have to seek additional assistance. We also ensure that our nursery, toys and the interactions between the children themselves are safe.

Vision:

A cutting-edge ministry that draws young people and their families and encourages them to be faithful disciples with a passion for meeting the needs of their community.

Mission:

To prepare young people to be faithful disciples of Jesus Christ by influencing their spiritual and social development through worship services and empowerment programs.

In 2006, the Marshall B. Dixon Scholarship Fund was created to provide financial resources to active students from the Pleasant Grove Church congregation. We believe and promote education as a major foundation for responsible adult living and contribution to our surrounding community.

An application process with specific criteria is available to any disciple of Pleasant Grove graduating from high school or who has earned a G.E.D. and is applying for higher education or industry training. A committee will review and assess the application based on academic merit and financial need. Funds will be awarded and provided directly to the institution or training facility. Applications will be accepted in the summer and winter to meet typical education cycle needs.

The Marshall B. Dixon Scholarship Fund is administered through and supervised by The Finance Ministry of Pleasant Grove Church.  How can you help? Provide contributions to the Scholarship Fund so that it is self-sustaining! Or help solicit funds from other sources such as local employers, foundations, or other non-profit entities. Memorials are an excellent way to remember a loved one and provide valuable economic assistance to a young person. Honorariums can be set up to provide honor for an important person in your life today.

You might offer to serve on the Evaluation Committee which meets twice each year for review of applications.

Our Children and Youth Ministry exists to provide a framework for ministering to the spiritual, developmental and social needs of the children and youth at PGC and in our community. This ministry encompasses the Nursery Ministry, Children’s Ministry, Youth Ministry and Academic Ministry. We provide a Christian atmosphere that encourages sound Biblical teaching and spiritual development.

Children & Youth Church

Grove Kids and Grove Teens are two electrifying worship services where children and youth can come to worship and experience the awesomeness of God!

These dynamic services are held on Sundays during the 9:45 am morning Worship Service.  We offer age-appropriate instruction in the Word of God as well as exciting opportunities to share their gifts and talents. Psalm 127:3 says, “Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord; and the fruit of the womb is his reward”.

Here at Pleasant Grove, we value our children and we are purposeful about exposing them to authentic and lasting experiences with God!

Children's Choir

Our children’s choir is a collection of spirited young voices that offer praise to our God every third Sunday of the month.  Our children sing scripturally sound songs that encourages others and lifts up the name of our Lord and Savior.

The Youth Ministry

Engages teens from 13 through 18 years old in Biblical instruction using topical lessons that connect real life issues with the principles taught in Bible study and Sunday worship. We explore issues ranging from the existence of God, sex, drugs, communication with parents, divorce and peer pressure.

Throughout the
year there are various learning, service and fellowships. All youth are invited to come to talk, pray and hang out with friends. We have an accepting environment that nurtures a closer relationship with Christ and each other.

Academics

The Academic Ministry exists to encourage academic success and to provide resources and instruction related to the scriptures, academics, computers skills and other developmental disciplines.

We plan recognition opportunities throughout the year to celebrate academic successes. During our worship services, we publicly recognize students for their hard work during the school year.
