Marshall Brent Dixon Scholarship

Other Scholarship Opportunities

  • The Marshall Brent Dixon Academic Scholarship was established in 2007 in honor of PGC Disciple, Marshall Dixon. Marshall is the husband of Sis. Betty Dixon and the brother of Deacon Don Dixon.

  • The scholarship was established in Marshall’s memory in an effort to honor Marshall’s love for children and God. It has been the effort of the PGC Family to keep Marshall’s legacy alive by supporting the youth that have a desire to pursue higher education.

  • To date, the scholarship has been able to award nearly $40,000 to PGC students thanks to the generous contributions by PGC disciples, friends and family.

  • In 2008, Bianka Reese was the first recipient of the scholarship and proudly maintained the required GPA for all four years of her college career. She has since graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she obtained her undergraduate and Master’s degrees.

  • The scholarship committee meets at least once a year to review applications and for administrative purposes. Our prayer is that as the number of PGC youth continues to grow, there will be adequate funds available to support all eligible students in their pursuit of higher education.

  • The scholarship committee members consist of the following PGC members:

    • Monica Dixon Perry, Chair (Niece of Mr. Dixon)

    • Billie Redmond, Co-Chair

    • Betty Dixon

    • Peggy Dixon (Sister-in-law of Mr. Dixon)

    • Pat Guess

Proverbs 3:13–14 - Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold.

Continued financial support is needed in order to keep Mr. Dixon’s memory alive and to assist our children with their goals of higher education.  If you have any questions regarding the scholarship or how to contribute, please feel free to contact any committee member or donate through our Giving page:
